Located at the Art Blocks gallery in Marfa, Texas, this mural utilized the Fidenza algorithm for its design. It brought me great joy to translate this digital work into a physical space, and Marfa was an ideal location in many ways. To start, the town’s history is intertwined with Donald Judd, whose series of works at the Chinati Foundation clearly echo the ideas of generative, systematic exploration. On top of that, the sweeping landscapes of West Texas have been a continuous source of inspiration for me, and my work feels connected to that even if it’s hard to detail that connection with words.
