One of the things I love about SUDDEN EXTERNALITIES is how the patterns in the dots within a row form. Sometimes they’ll make repeating clusters of two or three, or some odd patterns that are detectable but not quite regular. None of these patterns were explicitly programmed, they just emerged from the fact that the program tries to draw rows of dots close together, and avoid drawing a dot where they would collide. Little irregularities add up to cause these patterns to form from that.
