The New Site

Hey friends, welcome to the new version of my site! I’m so pumped to finally have this all in order. This has been a long time coming, and there are a few new things about the site I'd like to point out, so let’s jump in.

Originals, Iterations, & Open Editions

The new shop contains three categories of work: originals, iterations, and open editions. Here's the breakdown:

Originals

The Originals section holds work where only one print (or plot, or painting, etc) of a work was made. On top of that, no other output from that particular program will be created. It's a standalone work. These works are signed, and include a signed print out of the source code from the program used to generate it, as well as a signed certificate of auth.

Iterations

The Iterations section is similar, but includes works where multiple distinct images were generated from the same program. There may be two to ten iterations from a single program, depending on how versatile I think it is. On the individual page for an Iteration, you'll see how many were created from the program. These works will typically be more affordable than the Originals. These are also signed and include the source code and cert.

Open Editions

The Open Editions section is a new addition with the most affordable options. The works in Open Editions may be printed an unlimited number of times. I use the same high quality materials for these prints that I use for Originals and Iterations, but they are not signed, and do not include the source code or certificate. I've added these because I heard a lot of requests for more affordable artwork, but I wanted to offer these in a way that wouldn't add a crushing amount of work to my (already kind of ridiculous) schedule.

New Materials

Until now, most of my work has been offered as giclee prints on paper, or the occasional plotter drawing. I've been experimenting with alternative printing techniques, and I'm excited to offer two new options: prints on wood panels, and acrylic art boxes.

Wood Panels

The wood panel prints are suitable for mounting and hanging directly on the wall without a frame. If you really want a frame, they also look beautiful is a floater frame without glass. The details in a wood panel print are a little softer than an equivalent paper print, so the works that I'm offering on wood panels are specifically designed to look great with that effect.

Acrylic Art Boxes

The acrylic art boxes are super sharp, and I love how they look in person. They are designed to be hung directly on the wall, and come with a French cleat already set up on the back. There are several color options for the sides of the box, so I may choose different colors to best suit the artwork. To my eye, the prints on acrylic are nearly as sharp as paper prints, with excellent resolution and color accuracy.

International Shipping

The new site has built-in support for international shipping, so you don't have to email me directly any more. There is a flat $15 fee for international shipping on any work. As always, I'll provide tracking information for international shipments.

Is Something Broken?

There's a lot of new material on the site, so if something seems broken or off, please let me know at tyler@tylerxhobbs.com. I really appreciate any feedback you can provide!
